Join bar • food  at 4523 Habersham St. for their grand reopening this Saturday, Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.! They will be introducing a new menu, revamped wine and cocktail list, and a restyled interior. If you have been to this Midtown spot, then you know it’s a trendy spot where locals come to chill out and eat great food for an affordable price. Come at noon for words from the owners or stop by throughout the day. There will be drawings for gift certificates, t-shirts and more. Bring pantry items like plates, napkins, aluminum foil, etc to be donated to the Emmaus House Soup Kitchen, which serves the homeless community.

I ate here with friends in the Fall and was suprised to find Dim Sum, Thai dishes, and classic American burgers all on the same menu, so I am excited to see what the new menu is offering. They focus on fresh ingredients that are sourced locally and will include the additions of weekend brunch as well as daily specials for dinner on Saturday. This may be our new #SundayFunday spot with brunch items like The Biscuit Board with made-from-scratch biscuits, sausage gravy, red eye gravy, honey herb butter, garlic herb butter, honey, strawberry cognac sauce, spiced grape jelly, sausage, ham and bacon as well as The Morning Bleu made of roasted potatoes, bleu cheese, brie, mushrooms, bacon, scallions and red pepper flakes. Dinner includes specials such as an Asian-inspired meatloaf encrusted in a sriracha brown sugar ketchup with Thai spices and a side of squash casserole and also a Seared Wild-Caught Salmon topped with fresh tzatziki and a side spinach salad with tomato, cucumber and raspberry vinaigrette.

Monday through Friday 3 p.m. – 1 a.m.

Saturday 10 a.m. – 1 a.m.

Sunday 12:25 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Brunch will be served until 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
bar • food is owned by Paula Letcher and Johnny Baker, who is responsible for the menu. His interest in cooking began at age 13, when he joined the Boys of Christ School, a working preparatory school in Arden, North Carolina. The assignment he chose was in the kitchen and he fed more than 100 students every meal for five years. His professional culinary experience includes working as a private caterer since 1986 and in restaurants and country clubs in New Orleans and Savannah. In 2001, he opened Queeny’s To Go-Go restaurant and sold it five years later. Letcher and Baker established bar • food in 2009; in 2013, they introduced coffee • deli in the same shopping center.
