Recycling


Blaine Bay Refuse recycling is collected every other week
on the same day of your weekly trash collection. Please
have your recyclables at your curbside by 6:30 a.m.
Please
have all recyclables clean, dry and free of any residue.

Extra
Recyclables -
Put extra recyclables out into cardboard boxes, plastic
tubes or paper bags and put next to your recycling bins.

you CAN NOT put in your WHITE BIN:
Wax-coated Wax paper or stretch wrap
Milk Cartons and Ice Cream Containers
Food-soiled material
Styrofoam
Plastic trays (bakery, meat, etc.)
Disposable diapers
Loose plastic bags
Frozen food bags
Plastic take-out containers or utensils
Scrap aluminum or foil
Toxic containers
What you can
put in your BLUE BIN:
Glass, Tin, Aluminum & Plastic
Bottles
All
colors of bottles, jars and jugs, tin, aluminum and
plastic bottles
Please remove all caps and lids!
Glass Jars & Bottles (rinse, remove lids)
Tin Cans (rinse and remove paper labels, flatten if
possible)
Aluminum Cans (rinse and crush if possible, no need
to remove labels)
Plastic Bottles Milk jugs, plastic pop bottles, shampoo
bottles, dish detergent.
Plastic Lids and Caps OK.
Do
not put these in your BLUE BIN
Light bulbs
Window glass
Mirrors
Pyrex
Glassware
Glass in bags, boxes or six-pack holders
Ceramics or dishes
Metals
Auto fluid containers (motor oil, solvents or antifreeze
containers)
Plastic lids or caps
What
you can put in your RED
BIN:
Newspaper or Newsprint items
Anything that is printed on newsprint such as newspapers.
No need to bundle. Place loose in the bin. Shiny inserts
are okay.
Cardboard:
Cardboard must be broken down and not exceed 2' x 3'.
Breakdown cardboard and place next to bins.
If windy, place bins on top. Ceral, Beveridge, Shoe
Boxes and Borwn Bags OK.
Motor
Oil
must be sealed in a 1 gallon, screw top unbreakable
container. No antifreeze or antifreeze containers.
Batteries
- Car batteries are accepted if they are NOT leaking.
We cannot accept cell phone batteries.
Scrap
Metal
- We accept any scrap metal stripped of plastic or rubber
parts. It must be less than 23" x 24" in any
dimemsion and weigh less than 36 lbs. Place in metal
bin. We CANNOT accept aerosol containers.
NOT Considered Recyclable:
Tissue paper
Paper Towels
Napkins
Carbon paper
Any wax, foil coated containers
Please
keep hazardous waste from all your trash disposal and
recycling!
Such as paints, solvents and pesticides. To dispose
of these hazardous and toxic wastes call
(360) 380-4640. Hazardous Waste Disposal is located
at 3505 Airport Drive in Bellingham.
There hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
and open the first Saturday of each month
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
